Message from Chief Jennifer Evans:
November 17, 2015
Good morning,
In light of the tragic events in Paris relating to terrorism/radical incidents and the adverse effect it has had in the Greater Toronto Area over the past few days, we have asked our officers to remain vigilant and attentive when conducting their patrols around Mosques and Islamic centres. While our thoughts are with the families affected by these tragedies, also know that it is during these times that we pull together and look out for each other.
Please know that you have the support of the Peel Regional Police, and if you have any concerns that you would like to share with us please contact Insp. Magdi Younan or Det. Lori Blashuk at our Diversity Relations Unit.
I have also asked the Diversity Relations Unit to review our list of current Mosques and Islamic centres within the Region to ensure our information is up to date. They may be reaching out to you for your assistance.
Sincerely
Jennifer Evans
