April 20, 2017-Mississauga
The Muslim Council of Peel is extremely alarmed at the recent threat against one of its board members, Imam Ibrahim Hindy and the Dar Al-Tawheed Islamic Centre, an MCP member organization. We unequivocally denounce violence and terror in any form. We are deeply concerned that hate motivated crimes and threats are on the rise in Mississauga. We appreciate Peel Police Chief Evans assuring us that reports of hate incidents are taken very seriously by her force. We expect that law enforcement will bring those responsible to justice promptly and will continue to work hard to foster a greater sense of safety and security for places of worship.
