The Muslim Council of Peel is appalled at the video circulating which is targeting students. This is creating a climate of fear and mistrust amongst children and youth in schools and warrants a thorough investigation by authorities. No child or youth should feel targeted, spied on or under surveillance by peers while at school.
Recent incidents at a Peel District School Board meeting and this video are evidence of the presence of Islamophobia in our society. We appreciate the swift response and steps initiated by the Peel District School Board to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Muslims students. We thank Director Tony Pontes for his leadership on the matter.
