The Muslim Council of Peel expresses deep concern over the knife attack at the Canadian Forces Recruitment Centre in Toronto. Such acts of violence have no place in our society. They are crimes regardless of any faith affiliations of the perpetrator.
We are grateful that the incident resulted in no loss of life and the accused is in custody. We are confident that law enforcement will carry-out its due diligence and justice will prevail.
As further facts are disclosed, we are available to work with local authorities to consult on preventative measures . We pray for the safety and security of the brave women and men that protect our great country.
