The Muslim Council of Peel (MCP) sends its deepest condolences to the Jewish community after the massacre of 11 worshipers at the Tree of Life synagogue in the United States. We are sending our prayers for recovery and well being of those who are injured physically and all those who are impacted by this criminal act. We remember how our Jewish sisters and brothers stood by us with rings of peace after the attack on the Quebec Mosque last year. Today, the MCP stands with you to grieve the loss of, and injury to, the innocent victims.

We believe that it is increasingly important for us to forge strong bonds to work together and combat Antisemitism and Islamophobia. Unfortunately, the proliferation of extremist political ideologies is supporting and increasing the momentum of hatred against our communities.

We pray that you find patience at this time of sorrow. May we all rise stronger together in resistance to uphold our shared values of peace and justice.

Regards,
