November 16, 2015
The Muslim Council of Peel offers its deepest condolences to the families of
all victims of terrorism including families of victims in the most recent
attack in Paris. Terrorism has no faith and hate has no place in civil
society.
Canadian-Muslims are peace loving people wanting prosperity, safety and
security for their families and neighbourhoods like all Canadians.
As human beings, people are highly emotional at such times. We ask our
fellow residents of Peel Region to please not allow emotions to cloud
judgement and manifest into xenophobia. We also ask schools and employers to
ensure that hate speech and bullying is carefully monitored and dealt with
promptly in the days and weeks ahead.
We pray that cooler heads prevail among leaders around the world and global
conflicts lead to peaceful resolve. We ask God Almighty to put love in our
hearts for all creation so that we can rid the world of violence and
extremism.
Ameen.
